The next fifty years...

I think the next fifty years will have a positive affect on the world. In our modern day United States a lot of aspects of our society have become disapointing. Kids barely have any manners or respect, our economy is down, and there are many other things that need to change in order for our world to become a better place. The flying cars, cloning, and new technologies are all very new and exciting, but not so necessary. It is more important for society to get back on track. Even though I don't agree with the article from the 1950's, i think the society was more relaxed and a happier living envirnment. Hopefully our society advances in technology and the society improves to make a better world for everyone.

On Writing Well

I think this project was actually very helpful because I learned so much more about the book. When we studied this book in journalism we had to actively read it and also did some lessons on it. However, i didn't really understand the material in the book until I had to go over it again for this project.Now I understand how to write essays, articles,annotated list, and many others from the novel much better.

My Vacation to Myrtle Beach

My video is about one of my family vacations. In the spring of 2008 my family and my best friend took a vacation to Myrtle Beach. While in Myrtle Beach we did a lot of activities. Some of theses activities included going to the pool, going to the arcade, and rented a golf cart. While in Myrtle Beach we rented a three bedroom family house. We stayed for about a week and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately the week went by very fast and it was time to go home to Staten Island.



Project Reflection: When we first started this project I didn't want to do it at all. I thought it was very hard and i didn't understand at all. Then after a while i got the hang of it and it became more fun. Adding all of the pictures, sounds, transitions, and effects became easy. This project was a good experience becasue it taught me how to use several programs that i never knew how to use. Some of these include google, Imovie, and blogger.

My Family Story

When I was five my family became a little unique. My mom and dad decided to adopt on little girl from China, so that I would not have to grow up an only child.When my first sister Danielle came home she fit right in with everyone and everything. Then after going through the adoption process once already, my parents decided it would be nice to adopt two more kids from China that were in need of a family. In China there are a lot of kids in orphanages with medical problems because they cannot afford to repair them. My sister was born with cleft lip and pallet, but not long after she arrived in the United States she had it fixed.Therefore my mom decided that it would be a good idea to help two more little boys with medical problems that were in need of a home, Thomas and Nicky. They were also repaired by the doctors as soon as they arrived here. I would never regret my parents decision to adopt three children, who are now my brothers and sisters.

Current Event : Great Kills teenager

Paul Cortapasso was charged with second degree murder in the robbery/ slaying of Alexander James. On March 13, of last year James was attacked by Cortapasso while Nico Valente stood by watching. After Cortapasso hit James in the head with a hammer, Valente and Cortapasso took off in the victims car and left James for dead outside his home on Capodanno Boulevard. This article really stood out to me because this is a very eyecatching title! This is something I should have been aware about because i live near here! This story is just one example of why you have to be very careful while dealing with your peers. All kids should definately be more aware of their surroundings and never travel alone! This article is very informative and shows exactly what can happen if you are not careful!

Current Events : Battered Women have a Friend in Donovan

This article is about battered women and how Donovan is trying to call it to the attention of other government representatives that this is a proble.With Donovan's help the government might realize that this is a serious issue that needs to be adressed. In my opinion this article deserved to be on the front page of the newspaper for various reasons. The women that are stuck in these horrific conditions deserve to be helped. It is very helpful to the women that Donovan is speaking out about this issue because it is such an important issue in our modern day society, that barely gets ackloweledged. everyone is too concerned with what is happening over seas to realize what is happening in their own neighborhood or commmunity. I hope that Donovan's approach to reducing the amount of abuse toward women is very effective.

Blogging in Education

Blogging is beneficial to education. It benefits education by creating enthusiasm, motivating students, and creating online and in the classroom collaboration.  It is helpful to schools because it increasing social and academic participation. Using Blogs in schools can help teachers and students as well. Blogging in schools helps them by increasing the participation in students and communicating with students and parents.
